Bee City Bio Blitz

  • Monroe County Courthouse 100 West Kirkwood Avenue Bloomington, Indiana, 47404 United States (map)

Join us at our Courthouse Native Garden, planted and maintained by our local Master Gardener association. Pam Roberts, our organization president, has managed and worked at the garden for a number of years, and will be available from 11:30 - 1:30 to help answer questions about native plants that attract bees and other insects.

Upload your pictures of bees to iNaturalist to help conservationists in their efforts to highlight bee populations throughout the United States. Bees love native plants, so our Courthouse garden is the perfect place to find your perfect bee picture.

Bloomington is designated as a “Bee City” through the Bee City USA initiative. Thinking globally and acting locally, Bee City USA provides a framework for communities to work together to conserve native pollinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides. Bee City USA and Bee Campus USA are initiatives of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation.
